Motorola ROKR EM30 LINUX Phone Unveiled

The LiMo foundation announced the new Motorola ROKR EM30 mobile phone, apparently the 22nd handset model based on the LiMo platform. LiMo, for those who came in late, is a Linux-based operating system for mobile devices. You may also remember the Moto ROKR as being one of their music phones, and the EM30 is no different: Motorola claims compelling music features。

The ROKR EM30 will launch first in Taiwan and other markets are expected to follow later. With an LCD display, D-pad navigation and integrated GPS functionality, users can take advantage of any available location based services. The phone uses ModeShift technology to illuminate the keyboard - red keys illuminate in music mode and blue while in phone mode。

With Radio Data System in place, users can know the artist and song playing on the built-in FM radio. The phone features a 3.5mm stereo headset jack
